For our second installment of UO Love Stories, we met up with Taylor and Daniel, a sweet Austin duo whose relationship extends both on and off the stage. The two play together in psych/baroque pop outlet, The Halfways, with Taylor on bass and Daniel on lead guitar/vocals.
Outside of music, these love birds enjoy photography, Taylor's pup Gandalf and of course, breakfast tacos. Read more on their relationship below and keep an eye out for their upcoming shows!

1. We know the two of you play in a band together. Is this where you met?
No, we met almost 4 years ago at a party in Miami. The Halfways started off as Daniel's project and I did not join the band until about 6 months ago.
2. What’s it like playing a live show together?
It's really fun! We do take our boyfriend and girlfriend hats off while we're playing a gig though. We don't want our relationship to be the focal point of the band although the band and our relationship has grown stronger because of it. We have an unspoken communication that definitely helps us when playing live on stage.
3. Favorite music or album to listen to together outside of practice…?
We always have a rotation of albums going but our top 3 albums to listen to as a a couple are Forever Changes by Love, Front Row Seat To Earth by Weyes Blood, and Almendra (self-Titled). When we are getting freaky we always put on Journey in Satchidananda by Alice Coltrane. ;)
4. Do you guys have a ‘spot’ in Austin? Restaurant, park, etc.
We love brunch. Our top three places are South Congress Cafe, El Alma, and 1886 Cafe at The Driskill. If we're having drinks we are usually catching some live music either at Mohawk or Hotel Vegas.
5. What’s your best relationship advice?
Give up on changing each other's sleeping patterns. Always choose the relationship over the fight.
